Spotlight on Christian Sorensen Hansen

Every time we find a filmographer we love, they move to New York. If you ask Kurt why, he’ll smile and say “working with me ensures wealth, fame, and careers in New York.”

Catch 22 for Guenther Media? Most definitely.

So I’d like to knock on wood in hopes I’m not jinxing anything and take a moment to raise my glass to our current shooter/editor extraordinaire. To Christian Sorensen Hansen. May he always find ample scope for his creativity right here in the Pacific Northwest.

From the outside, he may look like just another Capital Hill Hipster boy-genius who divides his time between cutting edge art and nouveau Parisian cafes. But actually he’s a Capital Hill Hipster who divides his time between: cutting edge art; nouveau Parisian cafes; music video direction; filming in Japan, El Salvador, the Netherlands, Mexico, India, and all over the states; website design; furniture construction; typography and sculpture. Phew!

You might ask, how can keep that many plates spinning and still be a top notch Guenther Media filmographer? The answer is simple. It’s because of all these interests that he can shoot films that will knock your campaigns’ socks off.

So raise your glasses to Christian. And while you’re at it, check out his work at www.internationalfilingsystems.com.

    What Makes Us Tick

Guenther Media 2011 is the culmination of 27 years in the business of persuasion, from the years of captive broadcast audiences to emerging micro-targeting and the relationship-based online landscape.

As our toolbox for winning grows ever larger, our motivation remains the same:

    1. Serve the common good. Whether we work with nonprofit or for-profit campaigns, for liberals, moderates or nonpolitical innovators, we seek partnerships that mean better answers to big challenges for people.

    2. Champion hope over fear. Fear can fuel a political win in an election cycle but it also polarizes and limits innovative answers.
It takes a muscular optimism, a visceral belief in voters, to make big changes that last, something campaigns often fail to offer. Voters aren’t stupid, they’re just treated that way.

    3. Create powerful integration. In a time of cookie cutter campaigns, we offer clients a web of evolving tools, from branding to campaign planning to film, design and social marketing. We know that campaigns win or lose depending on how well tools are chosen and how well they support each other.

What’s consistent about all of our projects – partnerships driven to produce the most effective persuasion for the resources. If you’re intrigued by that kind of partnership, let’s get together and explore the possibilities.

Tour de Vance, Jello shots, etc.

Have you ever come into work to find a mini-fridge on your desk? Filled with Blue Hawaii Jello Shots? With a 3 foot tall Tiki sculpture on top? crowned with a lei? Well I have. Welcome to the Guenther Media Tiki Tacki Tiki Lounge – arguably THE place to be during the recent Vance Building Open House. Kurt transformed the office into an Island-Life haven complete with palm fronds, blue lights, glowing candles, and our now-famous jello shots.

If I ever had any doubts that Kurt could throw a great party, they were squelched by the following conversation that took place through a series of texts on an iPhone:

Kurt: The ingredients for the jello shots are in the office. I got enough for 200.
    Rose: Don’t you mean 50?
Kurt: Have you ever been to the Vance Building’s Open House?
    Rose: No
Kurt: Trust me, we’ll go through 200.

With every passing day, I realize just how much there is to learn from one Mr. Kurt Guenther. Needless to say, he was spot on. There was nary a jello shot in sight by 9PM on the night of the Vance Building’s open house.
